BioBasically I am just your average Dutch girl, with maybe a few abnormal quirks, trying to enjoy life. I am a botanist, not your most average job. It brings me to exciting places, and here I am, working in London, on East African plants.
To clarify, being a botanist doesn't mean I can keep plants alive or tell you how to do that yourself either. My job consists of going on a collecting trip, pulling herbs out of the ground or snipping off a branch with some flowers and fruit attached, squashing it between a newspaper, dry it, after which it get send off to London, where it'll be stuck onto a piece of thick paper, and after having received a species name, it'll be put in a cupboard, amongst the other 7 million collections. So, if you want your precious plant to be conserved forever on a piece of paper in a two dimensional form, I am your girl. For any other enquiries I redirect you to your nearest florist.
Every now and then I'll bore you with some plant pictures or other pics I think you really need to see.
